Organic tree cultivation is the future as far as we are concerned. The organic growing process is a sustainable approach to growing trees that emphasizes preserving natural ecosystems and minimizing harmful effects on the environment. Unlike conventional methods, organic tree cultivation avoids the use of synthetic pesticides and artificial fertilizers. In doing so, this method of cultivation encourages biodiversity and the natural growth form of trees. 

Nursery Ebben uses biological agents - such as leaf compost - for fertilization and disease control and has significantly reduced the use of crop protection. We also lay grass strips with flower mixtures between the trees. By creating an ecological balance in our plots, we contribute to the basic health and resilience of our trees. This creates a biodiverse ecosystem in which natural enemies of pests thrive and soil quality improves. This results not only in stronger and healthier trees, but also in a more sustainable production process that benefits the environment.

On the plots, between the trees and along the field edges, wild green and flowery vegetation is provided partly through the use of flower mixtures. These mixtures consist of a variety of flower forms, including umbellifers, that attract a variety of insects such as hoverflies and bees. These insects are natural enemies of aphids, which attack tree leaves. In addition, the seeds of umbellifers attract birds, which in turn control caterpillars. Thus, flower mixtures act as a form of natural crop and pest protection.
