Solutions for gardens

Gardens offer safety, shelter, privacy, peace and quiet in the everyday hustle and bustle. They are a reflection of our personality and enhance the experience of the seasons. In addition, they contain selected elements of nature and form a haven not only for us humans, but also for many animals.

Trees define the image

A tree creates depth in the garden. A garden without trees often feels flat, while the addition of vertical foliage provides a roof and, thus, security. Certainly if a multi-stem tree is chosen, just one tree creates the feeling of a small forest. There is much more to see at eye level, and with older trees the garden looks mature immediately.  To keep your garden truly for yourself, privacy is an important element to bear in mind in the design. Mature trees can often provide privacy immediately for a large part of your garden. With them, you can easily create a place just to escape from the gaze of the outside world.

Biodiversity

Trees not only provide a nicer living environment for people, they are also of immense value for numerous insects, small mammals and birds in the garden. Whether it provides nesting sites, nectar, pollen or acts as a host plant, a tree is a biotope in itself and, for that alone, every garden deserves a tree.

Small gardens

A small surface area is thought to restrict the possibilities with regard to planting. However, that does not have to be the case. By using low or columnar and vase-shaped cultivars, you can also have a stunning tree in a smaller garden. Furthermore, a tree will always grow according to the conditions in which it is located. In many cases, because of the growing conditions, this tree will never reach the ultimate size that it would achieve in nature. You can also choose a tree which grows slowly, and with pruning every tree can be made to fit again, whether you make a bonsai of it or make it more squat-shaped through pollarding. Planes or linden which, generally speaking, reach 20-30 metres high can be instantly used in (smaller) gardens as espalier, roof or pollarded trees, for example.
