Ebben Nurseries has won the Horticulture Entrepreneur Prize 2016 for Future Proof Entrepreneurship. A wonderful confirmation that our innovative and sustainable company is recognised and valued.
The Horticulture Entrepreneur Prize jury believes Ebben Nurseries excels in the national and international relationships the company maintains and that it pays a lot of attention to communication at all levels of the chain. Ebben's activities are focused on knowledge transfer, openness within and promotion of the sector. Specifically, the concern for environmental sustainability and soil improvement. "Making outdoor space greener is in the Ebben family's blood," according to the organisers.
Toon Ebben received the national horticulture prize during a celebratory award ceremony in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Máxima. She had an opportunity to see with her own eyes the enthusiasm of the usually sober farmers, who do not receive compliments about their hard work every day, at the Keukenhof gardens in Lisse.
The Horticulture Entrepreneur Prize highlights vigour, courage, perseverance, sustainability and innovation. "A wonderful recognition of more than 150 years of know-how to grow and of the path we chose many years ago,” says a proud Toon Ebben. "And a great award for our company, our employees and our work. As winner of the prize, we are now ambassador for the garden sector for one year. A great way to share this award with the whole sector!"
