TreeEbb also available in the app stores

The online tree encyclopaedia, TreeEbb, is now also available as an app for iPhone and Android. Ebben Nurseries launched this app for the green professional world at the European Day of Public Space fair. There were many visitors at Ebben’s stand, with their phones at the ready to install and try out the new app.

The TreeEbb offers an enormous collection of characteristic plant species and extensive information about each of them. The user can search for specific species within this tool. Trees can also be selected on the basis of a specific location or application, on shape or colour, size, spread and many other plant characteristics. The TreeEbb is available now in the Apple App Store and Google Play.

The initial reactions are positive and Ebben had already received new feedback about the tree information on the day after the launch. “And that is exactly the intention,” Toon Ebben responds. “The TreeEbb should be a platform for and by green professionals, in which practical knowledge about trees can be collected and shared. This way we can learn from each other and ensure a sustainable, green future.”

Over the past year, the Ebben team have been working hard together with green professionals to improve and expand the TreeEbb. Information was added at the request of users. Such as the filter ‘no fruits’ - indispensable for managers. With visitor numbers of over 8000 unique users per month, the Ebben Tree Ebb was a great success and the nursery decided it was time for a real app for mobile phones.

Together with Ebben’s online partner, Cybox Internet and Communication, the team developed an app version of the tree-finding tool, in which the TreeEbb was given a new look. Well organised, user friendly and with a logical structure for mobile devices. The Ebben team adds new species, information and photographs to the TreeEbb every day. When information is updated in the web version, it will immediately be up to date in the app as well. Have tree knowledge to share yourself?
