In the German city of Geldern, the Tax Office and police service both received new accommodation in a shared new-build project. In terms of urban planning, the project was completed in total harmony with the environment, through a balanced composition of two simple, rectangular buildings which are subtly linked to each other, determining the entrances of both. For the design of the outside space at the project, the principle was: less is more. Umbrella-shaped, multi-stem Gleditsia triacanthos ‘Green Glory’ were chosen to create a natural character within the interplay of straight lines. Alongside the tax offices is a water feature, where multi-stem Acer campestre invite users to relax.
