In the heart of Düsseldorf, an impressive ultramodern office complex was constructed on the former site of the Gatzweiler Brewery. The glass and steel buildings, including a 19-storey tower, now accommodate 5,000 employees. A contemporary landscape was created through the design of the outside space, in which the fewest possible number of elements were used, to create rest and clarity. The number of users places significant pressure on the outdoor space. For this reason, a spacious, relaxed square was chosen. In the middle of the central square are the Berkshire Garden and Lime Stone Field, two gardens each with their own character. Trees provide a human scale and a beautiful green environment within the framework of the modern buildings. In order to create the desired natural experience straight away, the largest pin oaks and scarlet oaks were chosen from the nursery and planted.
